Role Overview
Our full-time Pet Associates drive exceptional pet parent experiences, maintain store standards, and provide direct pet care. This entry-level role offers hands-on work with animals, customer interaction, and merchandising in a dynamic retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding service in-person, phone, register, and online; greet customers and prepare pick-up orders.
- Handle pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, fish, and small animals; administer vet-directed meds.
- Ensure store cleanliness, stock shelves, face products, and support pricing/promotions.
- Sell merchandise/services/live pets, promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick pets and assist store-wide.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50lbs, climb ladders, handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments). Depth perception and team lifting for heavier items.
