Role Overview
The full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) drives positive pet parent experiences, maintains store standards, and provides direct care for in-store pets. This entry-level role offers flexibility across sales floor, services, and pet care in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding customer service in-person, phone, register, and online; prepare pickup orders.
- Manage pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish; administer vet-directed meds.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and maintain cleanliness/safety.
- Sell merchandise/services/live pets, promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Respond to pet emergencies, ensure safe environment, and assist across store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required. Ideal candidates have strong communication, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50lbs, climb ladders, handle animals). Passion for pets is key.
Physical Demands & Environment
Expect standing/walking, lifting up to 50lbs (team lift 100+), exposure to pet hair, noise, and live animals. Reasonable accommodations available.
