As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Sterling, Illinois, you'll engage pet parents, care for live animals, and drive sales while upholding PetSmart's vision. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats, and vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock shelves, and recover sales floor.
- Recommend merchandise, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; handle sick pets and assist across store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Strong communication, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lifting 50+ lbs, standing, handling animals) essential. Thrive in moderate noise, wet environments, and pet hair.
