Role Overview

As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll deliver outstanding pet parent experiences while caring for store pets and maintaining a clean, safe environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility across store operations, from sales to pet health, in a fun, pet-filled workplace.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
• Provide hands-on care for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and habitats—including feeding, cleaning, and vet-directed medications.
• Execute merchandising tasks: facing/filling products, staging new inventory, weekly price changes, and promotional setups.
• Promote sales, services, live pets, and events like adoption weekends and Treats enrollment.
• Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets and transport to vet as needed.

Experience & Skills

No prior experience required—pet passion is key! You need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), climb ladders, and work in pet-heavy environments. Vision for depth perception and tolerance for moderate noise/wet conditions essential.
