Role Overview
As a Full-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Stratford store, you'll deliver outstanding pet parent experiences, care for live animals, and maintain a clean, safe environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility across store operations, from sales to pet health, with room to advance your career.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and administer vet-directed meds.
- Execute merchandising tasks: stock shelves, face products, handle price changes, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain store standards for cleanliness, safety, and pet welfare, including immediate action on sick/injured pets.
- Collaborate across departments, recommend products/services, and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive in fast-paced settings, handle pressure calmly, and are available evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, ladder use, and animal exposure in a moderate-noise, pet-filled environment. Reasonable accommodations available.
