Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Sunset Valley, Texas, you'll deliver outstanding pet parent experiences while caring for store pets and maintaining a clean, safe store. This entry-level role offers flexibility, impact, and rewards for those who thrive in dynamic retail settings with live animals.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide hands-on care for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and habitats including feeding, cleaning, and vet-directed medications.
- Execute merchandising tasks: facing/filling products, staging new items, weekly price changes, and promotional setups.
- Sell merchandise, services, and live pets while promoting events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety by monitoring pets, taking action on illnesses/injuries, and upholding cleanliness standards.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), stand/walk extensively, climb ladders, and handle animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment.
