Role Overview
PetSmart's full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers outstanding pet parent experiences, upholds store standards, and provides direct pet care. This entry-level role in our Tallahassee store involves customer engagement, merchandising, and ensuring pet safety in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions including order pickups.
- Maintain pet health by feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), and administering vet-directed meds.
- Execute store operations: cleanliness, price changes, product staging, stocking, and recovery to sales floor standards.
- Sell merchandise, services, and live pets while promoting events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick pets and assist across departments.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—training provided. Ideal candidates have strong communication, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lifting 50lbs+, standing, climbing, animal handling). Passion for pets is key.
