Role Overview
The Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) is the heart of our store, delivering outstanding pet parent experiences while caring for live animals. This full-time role in Tampa, FL, combines customer service, sales, and pet care in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, and seamless online order pickups.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Merchandise products, maintain sales floor standards, handle price changes, and promote events like adoptions.
- Ensure store safety, cleanliness, and immediate response to sick/injured pets, including vet transport.
- Recommend products/services and assist across departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Entry-level friendly with no prior experience required. Ideal candidates have strong communication, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, animal handling). Passion for pets is a must.
