Role Overview
The Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) is the heart of our store, delivering outstanding pet parent experiences while ensuring pet safety and store excellence. This full-time role in Toms River, NJ, involves customer engagement, pet care, merchandising, and maintaining a clean, safe environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and administer vet-directed meds.
- Execute merchandising tasks: face/fill products, stage new items, handle price changes, and recover sales floor.
- Sell merchandise, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain safety standards, respond to pet health issues, and assist across all store areas including services.
Experience & Skills
