Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate in our Toronto, Ontario store, you'll be the friendly face for pet parents, delivering outstanding service while caring for our live pets. This entry-level role combines customer engagement, pet care, and store operations to uphold PetSmart's vision of exceptional experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store standards by facing/filling products, staging merchandise, executing price changes, and ensuring cleanliness.
- Recommend products, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Prioritize safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets and assist across all store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive in fast-paced settings, handle pressure calmly, and are flexible with evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, climbing ladders, and working with live animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment. Reasonable accommodations available.
