Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Traverse City, Michigan, you'll engage pet parents and pets, deliver exceptional service, maintain store standards, and care for live animals. This entry-level role offers flexibility, impact, and opportunities to thrive in pet retail.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction via in-person, phone, register, and online interactions; prepare pickup orders.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), administer vet-directed meds.
- Ensure store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock and face merchandise per sales floor plans.
- Sell products, services, and pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick pets and assist store-wide.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure. Physically demanding: lift 50+ lbs, stand/walk extensively, handle animals in moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment. Ladder use, depth perception essential.
