Role Overview

As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Tyler, Texas store, you'll deliver outstanding customer experiences while caring for store pets. This entry-level role combines sales, pet care, and store operations to uphold PetSmart's vision of exceptional service and pet safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions.
• Provide hands-on care for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and habitats including feeding, cleaning, and vet-directed medications.
• Execute merchandising tasks: stock products, face shelves, handle price changes, and maintain cleanliness.
• Sell merchandise, services, and live pets while promoting events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
• Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to pet health issues immediately.

Experience & Skills

No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays). You'll stand, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), climb ladders, and work in a lively environment with animals, moderate noise, and occasional wet areas. Depth perception and composure under pressure are essential.
