Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in West Berlin, New Jersey, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, deliver exceptional service, maintain store standards, and provide direct pet care. This entry-level role offers flexibility, impact, and the chance to thrive in a fast-paced pet retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions, including online order pickups.
- Manage pet healthcare for store-owned birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and more—feeding, cleaning, and medicating as directed.
- Keep the store spotless, handle merchandising like facing products, price changes, and recovery to sales floor standards.
- Sell merchandise, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets and transport to vet if needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who stay composed under pressure, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), stand/walk extensively, and work evenings/weekends/holidays. Exposure to animals, moderate noise, and wet environments is common; reasonable accommodations available.
