PetSmart's full-time Pet Associate (Retail Sales Associate) delivers outstanding pet parent experiences, upholds store standards, and provides direct pet care. This entry-level role in our vibrant Wheaton store involves customer engagement, merchandising, and ensuring pet safety in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions.
- Manage pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and crickets.
- Maintain cleanliness, handle price changes, stock shelves, and recover sales floor.
- Sell merchandise, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to pet health issues and transport to vet as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and handle animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled setting. Depth perception and team lifting for heavier items required.
