Role Overview
As a Full-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Whitby, Ontario, you'll deliver outstanding customer experiences, care for live pets, and keep our store running smoothly. This entry-level role offers flexibility, hands-on pet interaction, and pathways to advancement in pet retail.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order fulfillment, and sales of merchandise, services, and pets.
- Provide daily care for store pets: feeding, watering, habitat cleaning (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store standards: cleanliness, merchandising, product recovery, price changes, and event promotion (adoptions, Treats, charity).
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets including vet transport.
- Support all store areas including services, following company policies.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, handle flexible schedules (evenings/weekends/holidays), and meet physical demands: lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, ladder use, animal exposure.
