Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Williamsburg, VA, you'll engage pet parents and pets, deliver outstanding service, maintain store standards, and provide direct pet care. This entry-level role offers flexibility across evenings, weekends, holidays, and supports our mission of pet safety and customer joy.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online; greet, answer questions, prepare pickups.
- Manage store pet health: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), administer vet-directed meds.
- Uphold cleanliness, face/fill products, stage inventory, handle price changes/promotions.
- Sell merchandise/services/live pets, promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates/pets/customers; respond to sick pets, transport to vet if needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Need strong communication, schedule flexibility, composure under pressure. Physically demanding: lift 50+ lbs, stand/walk extensively, handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments with pet hair. Ladder climbing, stooping required; reasonable accommodations available.
