Role Overview
PetSmart's full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers exceptional pet parent experiences, maintains store standards, and provides direct care for in-store pets. This entry-level role offers flexibility across sales floor, services, and pet care in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order fulfillment, and seamless checkouts.
- Manage pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and crickets; administer vet-directed medications.
- Uphold cleanliness, recover merchandise, stage products, and support pricing/promotions.
- Sell merchandise/services/live pets, promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets including vet transport.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, offer schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), and meet physical demands: lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, ladder use, animal handling in moderate-noise/wet environments. Depth perception and composure essential.
