Role Overview
Our full-time Pet Associates drive exceptional pet parent experiences while maintaining store standards and providing direct care for live pets. This entry-level role offers hands-on pet interaction, customer engagement, and merchandising in a dynamic retail setting. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential in this fast-paced, pet-filled environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding service by greeting pet parents, answering questions, and handling online order pickups.
- Provide daily care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Merchandise products, execute price changes, maintain cleanliness, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick or injured pets.
- Support all store areas, including services, while following company policies.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Successful candidates have strong communication, composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in a pet-hair-filled environment with moderate noise and live animals. Depth perception and team-lifting for heavier items are needed.
