Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Yonkers store, you'll deliver outstanding customer service, care for live pets, and maintain a clean, safe environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility, impact, and the joy of pet interactions daily.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Drive sales by recommending merchandise, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and uphold store cleanliness and safety standards.
- Respond to sick/injured pets, transport to vet if needed, and assist across store areas including services.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, handle 50+ lb lifts, climb ladders, and work evenings/weekends/holidays. Exposure to animals, moderate noise, and wet environments is part of the fun. Depth perception and physical stamina essential.
