Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Albuquerque, NM store, you'll engage pet parents, care for live animals, and maintain an inviting store environment. This entry-level role offers flexible hours, perfect for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with hands-on pet interaction and customer service focus.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Drive sales by recommending products, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain store standards: cleanliness, merchandising, price changes, stocking, and recovery.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets and transport to vet as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lifting 50+ lbs, standing, climbing, animal handling). Thrive in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise, pet hair, and live animal exposure.
