Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Austin, Texas, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, uphold our vision, mission, values, and strategy. Share responsibility for store cleanliness, pet safety, and direct care of in-store pets like birds, reptiles, small animals, and fish. Enjoy flexibility while contributing to positive outcomes in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online; greet and answer questions.
- Prepare online orders for seamless pick-up.
- Provide pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats, administer vet-directed medications, and transport sick pets.
- Maintain cleanliness, support price changes, stage products, face/fill/recover merchandise.
- Recommend/sell merchandise, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safe environment for associates, pets, and customers; assist across store areas as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—passion for pets is key! Must have strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure. Physical demands include standing/walking, lifting 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), ladder use, animal handling in moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled settings. Reasonable accommodations available.
