Role Overview
PetSmart's Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers outstanding pet parent experiences, upholds store standards, and provides direct care for in-store pets. Based in Austin, Texas, this entry-level role offers flexible hours perfect for pet lovers seeking impactful work.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and register support.
- Handle pet healthcare: feed/water/clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish; administer vet-directed meds.
- Maintain cleanliness, face/fill products, stage merchandise, and support pricing/promotions.
- Sell merchandise/services/live pets, promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets and assist across store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50lbs+, climb ladders, and work in pet-filled environments. Vision for depth perception needed; reasonable accommodations available.
