Role Overview
Our Part-Time Retail Sales Associates (Pet Associates) deliver outstanding pet parent experiences while maintaining store standards and providing direct pet care. Based in Baltimore, MD, this entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with opportunities to work across departments including services.
Essential Physical Demands
Stand, walk, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), handle animals in a dynamic environment with moderate noise and pet hair exposure. Reasonable accommodations available.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), administer vet-directed meds, and respond to health issues.
- Execute merchandising: face/fill products, stage new inventory, manage price changes/promotions, and maintain cleanliness/safety.
- Sell merchandise, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Collaborate across store areas, follow policies, and foster a safe, inclusive environment.
Experience & Skills
