Role Overview

As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll engage pet parents and their pets while upholding PetSmart's vision of exceptional care. This entry-level role shares responsibility for store cleanliness, pet safety, and direct pet care, offering flexibility and growth in a dynamic retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online.
• Care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
• Maintain store standards: cleanliness, merchandising, price changes, and product recovery.
• Recommend products, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
• Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; handle sick/injured pets promptly.

Experience & Skills

No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical capability to stand, lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and handle animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment.
