Role Overview
PetSmart's Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, delivers exceptional pet parent experiences, maintains store standards, and provides direct care for live pets. This entry-level role offers flexibility and impact in a dynamic pet retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and sales recommendations.
- Handle pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish; administer vet-directed meds.
- Ensure store cleanliness, product recovery, merchandising, pricing updates, and safety protocols.
- Promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment; respond to pet health issues with vet transport if needed.
- Collaborate across departments while upholding company policies and culture of belonging.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments). Depth perception and team lifting for heavier items needed.
