Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll be the friendly face welcoming pet parents and their furry, feathered, or finned friends. This entry-level role combines customer service, pet care, and store operations in a dynamic retail environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is key in our fast-paced store.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, face/fill products, stage new merchandise, and support price changes/promotions.
- Recommend products, services, live pets, and promote events like adoption weekends and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets including vet transport.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – pet passion is a plus! We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, handle physical demands (lifting 50+ lbs, standing, climbing), and embrace a wet, noisy environment with live animals. Must be flexible and team-oriented.
