Role Overview
Our part-time Retail Sales Associates (Pet Associates) are the heart of the store, delivering outstanding pet parent experiences while maintaining pet safety and store standards. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, perfect for animal lovers eager to make an impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Keep the store spotless, stock shelves, face products, handle price changes, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Recommend products, services, and live pets while ensuring a safe environment for associates, pets, and customers.
- Respond swiftly to sick/injured pets, assist across departments, and uphold company policies.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – just a love for pets! We seek strong communicators who stay composed under pressure, can lift 50+ lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), climb ladders, and handle live animals in a moderate-to-noisy, pet-hair-filled setting. Flexibility and enthusiasm are key.
