Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain a welcoming store. This entry-level role offers flexible hours, evenings/weekends/holidays, and hands-on pet interaction in a dynamic retail environment.
Essential Physical Demands
Stand, walk, lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, handle animals. Exposed to pet hair, noise, and wet areas. Reasonable accommodations available.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish; administer vet-directed meds.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and maintain cleanliness.
- Recommend products/services/pets, promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, parents; handle sick pets and transport to vet if needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required. Seeking pet lovers with strong communication, flexibility, composure under pressure, and physical stamina. Depth perception and animal handling aptitude a plus.
