Role Overview

PetSmart's Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers exceptional pet parent experiences, maintains store standards, and provides direct pet care. Based in Brownsville, Texas, this entry-level role involves customer engagement, sales, merchandising, and ensuring pet safety in a dynamic retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding pet parent service in-person, phone, register, and online; greet customers and prepare pick-up orders.
• Provide pet healthcare for store animals: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer vet-directed meds.
• Execute store maintenance: cleanliness, price changes, product stocking, facing, and recovery to sales floor standards.
• Drive sales by recommending merchandise, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
• Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets and assist across store areas as needed.

Experience & Skills

No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50lbs, climb ladders, handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments). Vision for depth perception needed.
