Role Overview
Our part-time Retail Sales Associates (Pet Associates) deliver exceptional pet parent experiences, care for store pets, and maintain a clean, safe store environment. Based in Buena Park, CA, this entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with opportunities to advance in pet retail.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, questions, online order prep, and sales.
- Provide hands-on care for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and habitats including feeding, cleaning, and vet-directed medications.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and promote events like adoptions and Treats.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets immediately.
- Support store operations across sales floor and services areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and handle live animals in a dynamic environment with moderate noise and pet hair.
