Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) at our Burlington store, you'll deliver outstanding customer experiences, care for live pets, and keep our store sparkling. This entry-level role is perfect for animal lovers who thrive in dynamic retail environments, handling everything from sales to pet health with passion and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, product recommendations, online order prep, and event promotions.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and administer vet-directed meds.
- Maintain merchandising standards: face/fill products, stage new inventory, execute price changes, and ensure cleanliness/safety.
- Respond swiftly to pet health issues, transport to vet if needed, and collaborate across store areas including services.
- Uphold company policies for a safe, welcoming environment for associates, pets, and customers.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), climb ladders, and work in pet-filled environments. Vision for depth perception and comfort handling live animals essential.
