Role Overview
PetSmart's Part-Time Retail Sales Associate plays a key role in delivering exceptional pet parent experiences. From greeting customers to caring for live pets, you'll uphold our vision of pet safety, store excellence, and customer satisfaction in our Calgary, Alberta location.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding pet parent service in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock shelves, and recover merchandise to standards.
- Recommend products, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets including vet transport.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet lovers welcome! Must have strong communication, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), climb ladders, and work in pet-heavy environments. Specific vision for depth perception needed.
