Role Overview
Our part-time Retail Sales Associates (Pet Associates) deliver exceptional pet parent experiences while maintaining store standards and caring for live pets. This entry-level role offers flexibility, hands-on pet interaction, and pathways to career advancement in retail leadership or pet services.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Execute merchandising tasks: face/fill products, stage new inventory, support price changes, and recover sales floor.
- Recommend products, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain safety and cleanliness; respond immediately to sick/injured pets, including vet transport.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive in fast-paced environments, handle pressure calmly, and are available evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, ladder use, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet areas. Reasonable accommodations available.
