Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) at PetSmart in Cary, North Carolina, you'll engage pet parents, care for live animals, and maintain a welcoming store. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays while making a real impact daily.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online.
- Care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer medications.
- Stock shelves, face products, handle price changes, and prepare online pickups.
- Promote events, recommend products/services/pets, and ensure store safety/cleanliness.
- Respond to pet health issues and assist across store areas as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Need strong communication, schedule flexibility, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50lbs, climb ladders, handle animals). Thrive in moderate-noise, pet-filled environments with occasional wet/hairy conditions.
