Role Overview
Our Part-Time Retail Sales Associates are the heart of the store, delivering exceptional pet parent experiences while caring for live animals and maintaining a clean, safe environment. Located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, this entry-level role offers flexible hours perfect for pet lovers seeking rewarding work.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feeding, watering, habitat cleaning, medication administration, and vet transport if needed.
- Execute merchandising tasks like product facing, stocking, price changes, and sales floor recovery.
- Recommend products, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure store safety, cleanliness, and compliance with all policies while assisting in various departments.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – just a love for pets! We seek strong communicators who stay composed under pressure, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), and work evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include standing, climbing, and handling animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment.
