Role Overview
Our Part-Time Retail Sales Associates (Pet Associates) are the heart of the store, delivering exceptional pet parent experiences, maintaining pet safety, and upholding store standards. Based in Charleston, SC, this entry-level role offers flexible hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays, perfect for animal lovers seeking impactful work.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and vet-directed medications.
- Execute merchandising tasks like stocking, facing products, price changes, and recovery to sales floor standards.
- Promote sales, services, live pets, and events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain safety and cleanliness; respond to pet health issues by transporting to vets as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who stay composed under pressure, handle physical demands (lifting 50+ lbs, climbing, standing), and embrace a dynamic environment with live animals and moderate noise. Flexibility and a team mindset ensure success.
