Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Chicago, IL, you'll deliver outstanding pet parent experiences, care for store pets, and maintain a clean, safe store. Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and sales.
- Provide hands-on care for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and habitats including feeding, cleaning, and vet-directed medications.
- Execute merchandising tasks: stock products, face shelves, recover floors, and handle price changes.
- Promote events like adoptions, Treats enrollment, and charity drives while recommending products/services.
- Maintain safety standards, respond to pet health issues, and assist across store areas including services.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, schedule flexibility, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50 lbs, stand/walk extensively, handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments). Depth perception and team-lifting for heavier items needed.
