Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll deliver exceptional experiences for pet parents and their pets. This entry-level role involves customer engagement, pet care, store maintenance, and sales, in a dynamic environment with live animals and high-energy retail.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and administer vet-directed meds.
- Execute merchandising: face/fill products, stage new items, handle price changes, and maintain cleanliness/safety standards.
- Sell merchandise, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Respond to pet health issues, ensure safe environments, and flex across store areas including services.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and handle animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled setting. Depth perception and team-lifting for heavier loads needed.
