Role Overview
PetSmart's Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers outstanding pet parent experiences, maintains store standards, and provides direct care for in-store pets. Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, this entry-level role offers flexible part-time hours, ideal for pet lovers seeking rewarding retail work.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Manage pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and crickets; administer vet-directed meds.
- Uphold store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock shelves, and recover sales floor to standards.
- Sell merchandise, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets with vet transport if needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Successful candidates have strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lifting 50+ lbs, standing, climbing).
