Role Overview

As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll engage pet parents, care for live animals, and maintain an inviting store environment. This entry-level role offers hands-on pet interaction, customer service, and merchandising in a dynamic retail setting. Ideal for animal lovers seeking rewarding part-time work with growth potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
• Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
• Maintain store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock shelves, and recover merchandise to standards.
• Recommend products, services, and live pets; promote events like adoption weekends and Treats enrollment.
• Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets by transporting to vet as needed.

Experience & Skills

No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and handle animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment. Vision for depth perception and team lifting for heavier items required.
