Role Overview
PetSmart's Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers exceptional pet parent experiences, maintains store standards, and provides direct care for live pets. Based in Colorado Springs, CO, this entry-level role offers flexible hours and a chance to work with birds, reptiles, fish, and small animals in a dynamic retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Handle pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats, administer vet-directed meds, and transport sick pets.
- Execute merchandising: face/fill products, stage new items, manage price changes, and recover sales floor.
- Promote sales, services, events like adoptions and Treats enrollment, ensuring safety for all.
- Support store-wide tasks, maintain cleanliness, and follow policies in a pet-filled environment.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Successful candidates have strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and handle animals in moderate-noise, wet conditions with pet hair.
