Role Overview
Our Part-Time Retail Sales Associates (Pet Associates) deliver outstanding pet parent experiences, care for store pets, and maintain a clean, safe store environment. Based in Columbia, Maryland, this entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with opportunities to grow within our supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide hands-on care for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and habitats – including feeding, cleaning, and vet-directed medications.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and promote merchandise, services, events, and adoptions.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety standards, and respond immediately to sick/injured pets.
- Collaborate across store areas, embracing our culture of Belonging and Recognition.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – just a love for pets! We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, lift 50+ lbs, stand/walk extensively, and handle live animals in a dynamic retail setting with moderate noise and pet hair.
