Role Overview

PetSmart's Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers outstanding customer service, cares for in-store pets, and maintains a clean, safe store. Based in Columbus, Ohio, this entry-level role offers flexible hours perfect for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with hands-on pet interaction and sales opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
• Care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
• Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
• Maintain cleanliness, ensure pet safety, and respond to health issues by transporting to vet as needed.
• Recommend products, services, and live pets while upholding company values.

Experience & Skills

No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Successful candidates have strong communication skills, schedule flexibility, composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in pet-filled environments. Exposure to animals, moderate noise, and wet areas is common.
