Role Overview
Our Part-Time Retail Sales Associates (Pet Associates) are the heart of the store, delivering exceptional pet parent experiences while maintaining pet safety and store standards. Located in Columbus, Ohio, this entry-level role is perfect for animal lovers seeking flexible hours and impactful work.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and administer vet-directed meds.
- Keep the store spotless, stock shelves, face products, handle price changes, and promote events like adoptions.
- Sell merchandise/services/live pets, ensure safety, and respond to pet health issues by transporting to vets as needed.
- Flex across departments including services, following all policies.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – just a passion for pets! We seek strong communicators who stay composed under pressure, with schedule flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, ladder use, and animal exposure in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment. Reasonable accommodations available.
