Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Commack, New York, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, deliver positive experiences, and uphold our vision of excellence. Share in store maintenance, pet safety, and direct pet care while supporting sales and services in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction in-person, phone, register, and online; greet, answer questions, prepare pick-up orders.
- Provide pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish; administer vet-directed meds.
- Maintain cleanliness, face/fill products, stage merchandise, handle price changes and promotions.
- Sell merchandise, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, parents; respond to sick/injured pets, transport to vet if needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure. Physically demanding: stand/walk/climb, lift 50lbs (team lift 100+), handle animals in moderate noise/wet/hairy conditions. Depth perception essential.
