Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll deliver outstanding pet parent experiences, care for store pets, and maintain a clean, safe store. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays in a dynamic pet retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, questions, online order prep, and sales.
- Provide hands-on pet care: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, fish, and small animals.
- Stock shelves, face products, handle price changes, and promote events like adoptions.
- Administer pet medications, monitor health, and transport sick pets to vets as needed.
- Uphold safety, cleanliness, and company policies across all store areas.
Experience & Skills
Required Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills (written/verbal).
- Schedule flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays.
- Composure under pressure; physical stamina for lifting 50+ lbs, standing, climbing.
Work Environment
Expect moderate noise, pet hair, live animal exposure, and occasional mechanical parts. Depth perception and team lifting for 100+ lbs required. Reasonable accommodations available.
