Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain an exceptional store environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, perfect for animal lovers seeking rewarding retail work.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online; greet, answer questions, and prepare pick-up orders.
- Provide direct pet care: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish; administer vet-directed medications.
- Ensure store cleanliness, safety, and standards; handle sick pets and transport to vet as needed.
- Stock, face, fill products; support price changes, promotions, and sales floor plans.
- Recommend products, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – passion for pets is key! Must have strong communication, flexibility in scheduling, composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in pet-filled environments. Vision for depth perception and handling live animals essential.
