Role Overview
Our Part-Time Retail Sales Associates are the heart of the store, delivering exceptional pet parent experiences, caring for live animals, and maintaining a clean, safe environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with hands-on pet care and sales opportunities in a fun, pet-filled workspace.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), administer vet-directed meds, and respond to health issues.
- Execute merchandising: face/fill products, stage new items, handle price changes, and recover sales floor.
- Sell merchandise, services, and live pets while promoting events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; assist across store areas as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – just a passion for pets! Successful candidates have strong communication, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, ladder use). Thrive in a moderate-noise environment with pet hair, live animals, and occasional wet conditions.
