Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain a clean, safe environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, perfect for animal lovers seeking impactful work.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Handle sick/injured pets promptly, including vet transport.
- Maintain store cleanliness, stock shelves, face products, and support price changes/promotions.
- Recommend products, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, with flexibility for varied shifts. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, climbing ladders, and handling animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment. Reasonable accommodations available.
