Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain a welcoming store. This entry-level role offers flexibility, hands-on pet interaction, and a chance to make daily impacts in a fun retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed meds.
- Maintain store cleanliness, face/fill products, stage merchandise, and support price changes/promotions.
- Recommend products, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, parents; respond to sick pets and assist across store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure. Physical demands: lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+), stand/walk, handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments.
